Épisode Le général S02E09 - Timeless Saison 2

1er juin 1863, Comté de Beaufort, Caroline du sud. Dans un campement militaire le colonel confédéré Ryerson reçoit la visite d’Emma Whitmore qui lui apporte un cheeseburger. Elle lui demande d’arrêter un régiment de l’Union sur le point d’attaquer des plantations le long de la rivière Combahee et lui remet un livre sur l’histoire militaire de la Guerre civile où il trouvera les détails nécessaires. Elle lui promet qu’ensuite il pourra retrouver sa femme.

De nos jours, Carol Preston a amené Nicholas Keynes dans un cimetière pour lui parler d’Emma. Carol dit ne pas se préoccuper du fait qu’Emma et lui couchent ensemble mais elle la soupçonne de saboter les missions, comme celle avec les Suffragettes. Nicholas comme Emma blâme Lucy pour les échecs de leurs missions, mais Carol fait valoir qu’Emma faisait partie des missions qui ont échoué et que Lucy a Rittenhouse dans les veines. Rittenhouse est une affaire de famille qui se transmet aux héritiers selon Carol, et Emma ne peut pas comprendre ces choses-là. Carol a conduit Nicholas devant la tombe de Ruth Keynes Preston, la fille de Nicholas et la mère de Carol.

Au bunker, l’agente Denise Christopher a réuni Mason, Wyatt, Lucy et Rufus. Pour la sécurité de Wyatt ce qui va être révélé ne doit pas être confié à Flynn. Mason a trouvé des fichiers troublant dans les ordinateurs de Rittenhouse : des centaines de photographies de Jessica remontant jusqu’à son enfance. Denise explique qu’il faut se montrer prudente car ils ne savent pas qui est Jessica et pourquoi Rittenhouse l’a fait revenir. Mason rappelle qu’elle est différente de la Jessica que connaissait Wyatt et qui est morte. Denise demande à Wyatt s’il a le moindre soupçon à son sujet. Lucy fait valoir que si elle avait voulu les tuer, Jessica aurait pu le faire depuis longtemps. Denise veut que Jessica quitte le bunker. Lucy et Wyatt ne sont pas d’accord, Lucy pour la sécurité de Jessica et Wyatt parce qu’elle est enceinte. Si Jessica est virée, il la suivra.

L’alerte se déclenche indiquant que le vaisseau principal est en Caroline du Sud en pleine guerre de Sécession. Lucy indique qu’un régiment de l’Union, composé principalement de soldats noirs, ont planifié une attaque surprise sur des dizaines de plantations au milieu de la nuit et libéré des centaines d’esclaves. Si Rittenhouse l’arrête, c’est un sérieux coup pour l’Union. Rufus précise qu’Harriet Tubman était aux commandes. Ils pensent que Tubman est la cible.

L’équipe s’apprête à partir mais l’atmosphère reste tendue entre eux et Wyatt met en garde Denise, il faut que Jessica soit là à son retour. Denise lui donne sa parole.

Wyatt et Jessica se disent au revoir et parlent du bébé. Wyatt se dit impatient de connaitre le frère de Jessica. Il reste suspicieux car dans sa temporalité il est mort d’une leucémie à l’âge de 3ans. Wyatt lui demande si elle se souvient comment il a guéri, qui l’a soigné. Jessica dit qu’elle était trop jeune pour s’en rappeler. Jessica dit qu’elle espère avoir une fille.

En 1863, Lucy dit à Wyatt en train de lire une carte habillé en soldat qu’il ne devrait pas en vouloir à Denise. Wyatt dit qu’il n’en veut à personne. Lucy dit qu’ils doivent rester sur leur garde puisqu’ils ne connaissent par les intentions de Rittenhouse. Wyatt ne veut pas croire que sa femme enceinte est une sociopathe à la solde de leur ennemi. Lucy pense qu’elle leur ment peut-être, y compris au sujet de sa grossesse. Leur conversation houleuse est interrompue par l’arrivée de Flynn.

Les quatre coéquipiers arrivent sur une route recouverte des cadavres du deuxième Régiment de Caroline du Sud. Les Confédérés semblent les avoir pris par surprise. Wyatt pense que Rittenhouse a implanté un agent dormant chez les Confédérés pour les guider. Ils se demandent s’ils sont arrivés trop tard. Un soldat blessé leur demande de l’aider à en finir. Ils se rapprochent de lui et quelqu’un tire sur le soldat. Harriet Tubman leur dit qu’ils devraient avoir honte de ne pas avoir aidé un soldat et exige de savoir qui ils sont.

Wyatt dit qu’ils sont des envoyés du Général McClellan venus les aider, le Colonel Montgomery et elle, à diriger leur attaque. Harriet leur dit qu’ils sont arrivés trop tard. Les Confédérés sont arrivés par surprise et le Colonel Montgomery a battu en retraite. Mais elle ne compte pas en rester là. Elle ne veut pas écouter les consignes de prudence de Lucy et Wyatt.

Au bunker, Jiya dit à Mason qu’elle veut rencontrer Stanley Fisher, le pilote de la machine qui est en hôpital psychiatrique et qui a des visions. Elle a découvert son existence en piratant l’ordinateur de Mason. Mason dit qu’il n’avait rien dit à son sujet pour la protéger. Elle insiste car elle veut avoir des réponse et Mason va demander l’autorisation à Denise.

Dans le passé, Harriet soigne les soldats rescapés de l’attaque des confédérés. Wyatt et Rufus arrivent avec un jeune noir venu les informés de la présence de l’ennemi à la plantation de Willow Glen.

Harriet n’a plus que 6 hommes mais veut attaquer la plantation et rallier les esclaves. Wyatt lui oppose la présence en nombre de ses ennemis armés. Lucy lui dit qu’ils doivent trouver l’espion qui renseignent les Confédérés sinon toutes les batailles seront perdues d’avance. Harriet est d’accord mais ne renonce pas pour autant à l’attaque de la plantation.

A la plantation de Willow Glen, les Confédérés lèvent leur verre en l’honneur du Colonel Ryerson. Ryerson leur annonce leur prochain mouvement.

Au camp d’Harriet Tubman, Lucy soumet un plan à Wyatt. Rufus et lui resteraient avec Harriet tandis que Flynn et elle iraient à Port Royal pour convaincre le colonel Montgomery de leur fournir des troupes. Wyatt n’apprécie pas que Lucy parte avec Flynn mais n’a pas de meilleure proposition.

Plus tard, Wyatt s’est changé et porte un costume élégant prêté par un homme soutenant l’Union. Wyatt va essayer de s’introduire dans la réunion des Confédérés et Rufus va essayer de prendre contact avec les esclaves de la plantation. Harriet les prévient de faire vite car elle ne les attendra pas pour agir, même sans les renforts. Elle dit qu’une vision envoyée par le Seigneur l’avait prévenue de leur visite.

Jiya et Mason rendent visite à Stanley Fischer. Il est en pleine vision. Il reste alité et ses muscles se sont atrophiés car il passe la plupart de son temps à provoquer ses visions. Il dit à Mason qu’il est pire que Gengis Khan, Joseph Staline ou Adolf Hitler. Il demande à Jiya si elle a déjà vu les nouvelles couleurs et la prévient qu’elle aimera beaucoup ces couleurs interdites.

En 1863, Rufus et Wyatt s’apprêtent à quitter le camp d’Harriet Tubman. Rufus essaye de parler de Jessica à Wyatt mais celui-ci est sur la défensive et affirme qu’elle n’est pas de Rittenhouse. Sinon il est foutu, il l’a déjà perdu une fois, il ne peut pas la perdre une seconde fois. Rufus lui demande seulement de le prévenir s’il remarque quelque chose de pas net.

Harriet demande à Rufus depuis quand il est libre et lui depuis combien de temps elle a des visions. Cela fait des années. Harriet n’a le choix qu’entre la mort et la liberté elle va donc se battre malgré la peur.

Au camp du Colonel Montgomery, Lucy et Flynn qui ne possèdent aucun document permettant de les identifier ne sont pas très bien reçus par le Colonel échaudé par sa récente défaite. Lucy s’oppose au Colonel et lui dit qu’elle sait de quoi elle parle et qu’il aura besoin par la suite d’Harriet et de ses hommes.

Wyatt arrive dans la demeure de la plantation où se tient une réception. Il se présente comme étant Rhett Butler propriétaire d’une plantation en Géorgie.

Rufus et Harriet arrivent dans le quartier des esclaves. Harriet demande à ce qu’on fasse entrer Rufus dans la maison en tant que serviteur et que les esclaves se préparent à marcher sur Port Royal.

Dans la demeure, Wyatt écoute les récits des Confédérés et découvre quel est l’homme qui semble le mieux informé.

A l’hôpital psychiatrique, Jiya interroge Stanley. Il lui dit que comme elle Dieu lui a fait le don de pouvoir voyager dans différentes époques sans machine. Jiya voudrait savoir comment avoir une vision plus nette de ce qui va arriver à Rufus. Stanley lui donne quelques conseils et lui montre comment il se laisse happer par ses visions. Mason dit à Jiya qu’ils devraient rentrer à la base car Stanley peut partir pendant des heures.

Dans la demeure de la plantation Wyatt retrouve Rufus et lui indique sur qui porte ses soupçons.

A l’extérieur Harriet Tubman se trouve confrontée à un cavalier.

A l’intérieur Rufus et Wyatt entendent des tirs venus de l’extérieur.

Le cavalier menace les esclaves qui tentaient de s’enfuir et est abattu par Harriet.

Les Confédérés commencent à sortir de la maison avec leur fusil.

L’agent dormant dénonce Wyatt et Rufus comme étant des espions Yankees et ils se font tirer dessus. Wyatt est mieux armé mais l’agent dormant prend une femme en otage et demande son livre en échange de sa libération. Wyatt le tient toujours en jour quand Rufus arrive avec le livre d’histoire et le jette dans la cheminée. Ryerson arrive à s’enfuir mais il est abattu par Harriet. Derrière elle se tiennent les renforts, Flynn et Lucy.

Harriet explique à Rufus que les propriétaires de plantations ont peur et fuient. Ils échangent encore quelques propos au sujet des visions d’Harriet et Rufus lui dit qu’il a été honoré de la rencontrer. Il regrette de ne pas avoir de conseil à lui donner pour vivre une vie plus aisée. Elle lui dit que tout ce qui compte c’est d’être libre.

La capsule est de retour au bunker. L’attaque de la rivière Combahee est désormais appelée l’attaque de la plantation Willow Glen.

Flynn félicite Wyatt pour l’heureuse nouvelle.

En allant rejoindre Jessica Wyatt croise Lucy dans un couloir. Ils échangent quelques banalités et Lucy prend Wyatt dans ses bras. Ils se séparent sans un mot.

Dans leur chambre Jessica raconte à Wyatt que l’agente Christopher lui a dit qu’elle devrait partir pour la santé du bébé. Wyatt lui dit qu’il avait répondu à Denise qu’il partirait si Jessica était contrainte à quitter le bunker, mais il se dit que cela serait peut-être effectivement mieux pour le suivi de la grossesse qu’elle quitte le bunker et qu’il viendrait la voir. Jessica lui redit qu’elle ne veut pas être mariée à un secret d’Etat.

Rufus vient dire à Jiya dans la salle de commande qu’il va aller se coucher et lui demande de ses nouvelles. Il li dit qu’Harriet Tubman les a vu descendre de la capsule en rêve et qu’elle a attribué cette vision à Dieu. Il dit à Jiya qu’il va prêter plus d’attention à ses visions et il va se coucher.

Jiya provoque une de ses visions comme elle a vu faire Stanley.

Wyatt se réveille seul dans sa chambre. Il se lève et découvre Jiya mettant en route la capsule. Elle est menacée par une arme tenue par Jessica. La capsule part avec les deux femmes à bord. Wyatt est projeté au sol par l’onde de choc du décollage.

Rufus : I'm going to die.
Lucy : What?
Rufus : On one of our next trips. Jiya saw it in a vision of hers.

Lucy : Did you ever think that maybe you are seeing these things so that you can save Rufus?

Mason : Let's to see what Rittenhouse has been hiding. That's Jessica.

Wyatt : Who's that?
Jessica : Kevin, my brother you shoot pool with all the time.
Wyatt : Not in my timeline.
Jessica : What do you mean?
Wyatt : He died before he was three.
Jessica : No, he didn't, Wyatt.
Wyatt : Is there something you're not telling me?
Jessica : Yeah, there is. I'm pregnant.

soldat : Colonel Ryerson, sir, you have a visitor. It's a young woman?
Ryerson : All right, send her on in.
Emma : I brought you something from home.
Ryerson : So, uh, no letters or photos from my wife?
Emma : It's been a little chaotic since you left. Come on, when's the last time you had a cheeseburger? A nearby Union regiment is about to raid the plantations along the Combahee River. You're going to stop them. All the details you need are in here. Pull this off, and you're back home with your wife and all the cheeseburgers you can eat.

De nos jours dans un cimetière
Carol : It's this way.
Nicholas : Why did you bring me here?
Carol : To talk about Emma.
Nicholas : I realize you two have had your issues.
Carol : Please. I don't care about any of that. And I don't care that you're sleeping together. I don't trust her.
Nicholas : Why do you say that?
Carol : I think she's sabotaging the missions. The Suffragette movement of 1919. That should've been easy. And yet somehow, the mission fails, and Emma is the only one to come back alive.
Nicholas : If you asked Emma, she'd say that Lucy is to blame.
Carol : You're my grandfather, and I have the greatest respect for you, but quit thinking with your crotch.
Nicholas : Excuse me?
Carol : You're blind. Emma's been a part of almost every one of these failed missions, but each time you blame Lucy? The fact is, Rittenhouse is in Lucy's blood, not Emma's. Rittenhouse is about family. It's about legacy. Something Emma will never understand.
Nicholas : My daughter.
Carol : Yes. My mother.
Nicholas : She was two when I left. I never got to see her grow up.
Carol : You sacrificed everything for Rittenhouse. For her. For me, one day. Emma isn't family. Her faith is fleeting. She doesn't believe in you like I do.

Bunker
Wyatt : You wanted to see us?
Lucy : Wait, where's Flynn?
Rufus :  I think he's still asleep. You ever hear him snoring? Dude needs a CPAP.
Denise Christopher : No Flynn, just you three. What we're about to tell you stays between us, for Wyatt's sake.
Wyatt : For my sake?
Mason : I found some, shall we say, troubling files on the Rittenhouse computers.
Rufus : Is that Jessica?
Wyatt : When was that taken?
Mason : There are hundreds of these, going all the way back to Jessica's childhood.
Lucy : Rittenhouse has been following Jessica her entire life?
Wyatt : Why would they do that?
Denise Christopher : That's what we've been trying to figure out for a week now.
Wyatt : You've known about this for a week? You're just now telling me?
Denise Christopher :  Look. I'm treading cautiously here. But Rittenhouse brought Jessica back from the dead for a reason, Wyatt.
Rufus : Whoa, whoa, whoa, are you saying Jessica works for Rittenhouse?
Denise Christopher : The truth is, we don't know who she is.
Wyatt : Yeah, we do, she's my wife. I've known her since high school.
Mason : No, Wyatt, to be precise, you knew a Jessica who sadly passed away. This Jessica could be different.
Denise Christopher : Do you have any reason at all to suspect Jessica of anything?
Wyatt : Come on. This is insane.
Lucy : If she were Rittenhouse, wouldn't she have tried to kill us by now or given up our location?
Wyatt : Exactly, thank you.
Denise Christopher : Wyatt, I'm moving her out of the bunker. It's the safest thing for Jessica and for us.
Wyatt :  Wait, wait, what?
Lucy :  Wouldn't that put her in danger if she's not Rittenhouse?
Denise Christopher : We will provide her with around-the-clock protection.
Wyatt : Jessica's not going anywhere.
Denise Christopher : I know this isn't easy for you, but you're a soldier, and you need to think of the mission. Jessica's a potential security risk.
Wyatt : She's pregnant. You throw her out, I go too.

Lucy : She's what?
Rufus : I think he just said she's pregnant.
Mason : That went well.

Mason : South Carolina, June the 1st, 1863.
Rufus : We're going back to the Civil War again. Yay.
Denise Christopher : So why South Carolina?
Lucy :  I don't know. Fort Sumter was a couple of years before. The assault on Fort Wagner isn't for another month.
Rufus : Wait, wait, wait. What about the Combahee River Raid?
Lucy : Oh, um, of course. It was that night.
Flynn : Oh, come on, Lucy, defend your territory. You're the history geek.
Lucy : It was a regiment of mostly Black Union soldiers who planned a surprise attack on dozens of plantations in the middle of the night. Torched fields. Freed hundreds of slaves.
If Rittenhouse stops it, it's a serious blow to the Union.
Flynn : Attagirl, show 'em who's boss.
Rufus : There's more. It was led by Harriet Tubman.
Denise Christopher : You think Rittenhouse is trying to derail - the Underground Railroad?
Lucy : No. The Underground Railroad was humming for years before that. During the war, Tubman was actually a Union spy. They called her
Mason :  They called her "The General."
Rufus : How'd you know that?
Mason : Oh, well, she's not just an American hero. Uh, across the pond we even have streets named after her.
Denise Christopher : So they are going after Tubman and her men. Wyatt. You have anything you'd like to add?
Wyatt : Why? Obviously you all are the experts at everything.
Denise Christopher : Let's get going.
Wyatt :  She better be here when I get back.
Denise Christopher : You have my word.
Wyatt : Sure you're gonna be okay while I'm gone?
Jessica :  I'm not the one I'm worried about. 1er juin 1863, Comté de Beaufort, Caroline du sud. Yes, I'll be fine. Turns out pregnancy just makes me wanna binge-watch "This Is Us" and ugly cry, so I'll get it all out of my system before you're back.
Wyatt : We gotta tell your family the good news soon.
Jessica : Sure. As soon as we get out this dank, rusty hellhole, I will send out the invitations for the baby shower.
Wyatt : I know. I'm sorry. I know you wanna see 'em. I wanna see 'em too. Hell, I never even met your brother.
Jessica : Mm-hmm.
Wyatt : What?
Jessica : It's just weird how much you've been talking about my brother lately.
Wyatt : Well, it's, uh It is kind of weird. You know? In my timeline, he died when he was three from leukemia, and now he's suddenly alive and kicking. It's
Jessica : So am I. That's a good thing, right? -
Wyatt : Yes, of course. Are you sure you don't remember how he was cured? Or who cured him, or why, or anything? I mean, it's just
Jessica :  I was a kid.
Would you rather he'd have died?
Wyatt : No, come on. I'm sorry.
Jessica : Now, are you going to answer my question? The important one? What question? Boy or girl?
Wyatt : Ah, hmm Let's see. I will take either one.
Jessica :  Girl.
Wyatt :  You can't say that.
Jessica : Girl, 100%.
Wyatt :  What if it's a boy?
Jessica : Then I will love him almost as much as a girl. And we'll just we'll just try and try and try until we get one.
Wyatt : You are truly awful. You are.
Jessica : Be careful.
Wyatt : Yeah.

Lucy : I don't think you should be angry at Christopher. She's just trying to protect us.
Wyatt : Who's angry? I'm just reading a map.
Lucy : Look, I get how hard this Jessica thing must be, but we just have to keep an open mind.
Wyatt : Yeah, an open mind. That my wife is a cult-loving, sociopathic traitor.
Lucy : Rittenhouse took those photos for a reason. They brought her back for a reason.
Wyatt : Yes, to distract us, in which case, Christopher freaking out is exactly what they want.
Lucy : I hope so. We just We have to be sure.
Wyatt : What do you want me to say, Lucy? That my wife is a liar? Hell, maybe she's lying about being pregnant too. You do think she's lying about that.
Flynn : If Rittenhouse doesn't kill us, the mosquitoes will.
Rufus : Is West Nile a thing yet?
Flynn : No, but typhoid and dysentery killed about 150,000 soldiers. So, better wash your vegetables. What's up with Captain Sunshine?

Wyatt : This must be the 2nd South Carolina. They were the only Union regiment in the area.
Rufus : Tell me it's not the same regiment that's supposed to raid the plantation tonight.
Lucy : Afraid so. This wasn't supposed to happen.
Flynn : Looks like the Confederates took them by surprise.
Wyatt : Rittenhouse must have a Sleeper in the Confederate Army telling them what to do.
Rufus : So we're too late? History's already changed? The South's gonna win?
soldat : Help. Please. Help. Please. Help me die. Help me die easy.
Lucy : We'll find a doctor for you.
soldat : No, no. Please. Mercy. Give me a gun and I'll do it myself.
Tubman : What's wrong with you, not helping a soldier in need?
Rufus : You're Harriet Tubman. You're alive.
Tubman : But you won't be for long. Now, who the hell are you?
Lucy : You don't know us, but we know you.
Rufus : You are a legend where we're from.
Tubman : Where's that? Sound like Yankees.
Wyatt : General McClellan sent us to help you and Colonel Montgomery with the raid tonight.
Tubman : I was just thinking you look familiar to me. I seen you before?
Flynn : No. We're from really, really far up north.
Tubman : Well, you're late. Damn Rebs came from out of nowhere. Like they knew right where to go. Colonel Montgomery retreated. Took all of his men along with him.
Wyatt : Do you know where the Rebs are now?
Tubman : No. But I aim to find out and slit their throats - before the night's out.
Lucy : You can't continue the raid. Montgomery's gone, and so are most of your men.
Tubman : Most, but not all. Got some recuperating at a safe house nearby.
Wyatt : Wait, we are hunting a Confederate spy, the one who led the attack on you here.
If you would just give us a minute, let us do our job.
Tubman : If you think I'm gonna stand down, you don't know me very well. You wanna find your spy? I'll let you join us. But get in my way, I shoot you my damn self.
Tubman : Dude. Harriet Tubman's hardcore.
Wyatt : Yeah.

Bunker
Mason :  Where have you been?
Jiya : I wanna meet Stanley Fisher.
Mason : I'm sorry, I don't know who that is.
Jiya : You don't? Let me refresh your memory. The time machine pilot you've had locked away in a mental hospital. Hmm? The one who has had similar visions to mine. The one that you've been hiding from me and Rufus.
Mason : I haven't been hiding anything.
Jiya : Don't you dare. What I've been going through, and you knew someone going through the same thing - and you didn't tell me.
Mason : Where did you get all this Oh, that's where you were. Hacking into my laptop.
Jiya : Take me to Stanley Fisher.
Mason : Why?
Jiya : "Why?" Maybe because he can help me understand my visions. And then I can help Rufus.
Mason : Look, he The reason I didn't tell you is 'cause I wanted to protect you. You're not gonna learn anything about your visions from Stanley Fisher. The man's as mad as a hatter.
Jiya : I don't need protection, I need answers.
Mason : You're gonna keep hounding me till my dying day, aren't you?
Jiya : Without question.
Mason : All right. I'll see if Agent Christopher will let us up for some air.
Jiya : That went better than I thought.

Caroline du sud
Flynn : What's she giving him?
Lucy : She knows all sorts of herbal remedies. She was a nurse, a cook, a spy, a soldier.
She had to fight for a military pension. Still didn't get it. Died in poverty.
Flynn : But if she goes on this raid, she's gonna die a lot sooner than that.
Wyatt : This is Samuel. Tell 'em what you told me.
Samuel : I've seen the Rebs at the Willow Glen Plantation. Ran here as fast as I could.
Lucy : Brave kid.
Tubman : Willow Glen's just up river. Whole lot of slaves there who could help us.
Wyatt : And a lot of Confederates who could kill you.
Tubman : Start mustering.
Wyatt : You said you had men. I see a half-dozen here. Where's the rest?
Tubman : We'll make over a hundred with the slaves we free.
Wyatt : They're unarmed, fighting soldiers with guns.
Tubman : And I would give every drop of my blood to free them. What're you fighting for if it ain't for this?
Lucy : We're with you. We are. But it's important that we find this Confederate spy or every battle that we fight from here on out will be a losing one.
Tubman : All right. I'll help you get to your spy, but then I'm freeing those slaves. You hear me?
Rufus : We hear you. Believe me, we are not gonna lose this freaking war.
Tubman : We leave at dark.

Dans le salon de la plantation
soldat : To Colonel Ryerson, for his heroic defeat of those back shootin' Blue-bellies. And for saving our grand plantations along the river.
soldat : Hear, hear.
Ryerson :  Gentlemen. Gentlemen, there should be many more battles to come. In fact, scouts tell me Union regiments are converging on Vicksburg. We leave at dawn. Face them on the road before they join forces. Should be easy pickings.
soldats : Hear, hear.

Lucy : You and Rufus go with Harriet, and Flynn and I will ride to Port Royal to convince Colonel Montgomery to give her the troops that she needs for the raid.

Rufus : Well, I gotta go. My friends, the other Union spies, we have to check in with our commanding officer. Can I just tell you what an honor it is to have met you. I wish I had some advice for you, about how to make money, something to make your life better, because if there is anyone who deserves it, it's you.
